During my full-time student teaching internship I facilitated varied forms of do now and exit slip activities. To the left is an exit slip activity I implemented during a ballet lesson. Students had to write down one AHA (lightbulb) moment and one HUH (questioning) moment. Above you will find a do now activity I implemented during my edTPA unit. Students had to write down one thing they learned about each Dance Element and how it had changed their perspective on choreography. Scroll through both documents to view student responses.
2d: Managing Student Behavior
One of the classes I took to receive my graduate degree was Classroom Organization for Inclusive and Special Classrooms. With the help of this class, I was able to craft the classroom management plan to the left.
This was a class behavior chart I crafted and utilized during an after school dance program. Students took the responsibility to move the pins down when instructed.
2e: Organizing Physical Space
The picture to the left shows the classroom map of the space that I was teaching in for the after school Cultural Arts and Recreation Enrichment (CARE) program at Elizabeth Avenue School. We were placed in the gym. On the map are the obstacles that were regularly in the space and how we organized our use of the space.
