My Journey...

Dance has been an integral part of my life since I was a little girl. During my dance training in college I was introduced to various forms of somatic practice. Somatic practices are mind-body techniques that allows for us to cultivate and maintain a mind-body connection. Also, these techniques teach us how to maintain a healthy lifestyle and take care of our bodies to prevent injuries. Yoga has taught me to take a breath at every moment and to overcome obstacles in any aspects of life. In my own philosophy it is essential to incorporate some form of somatic practice in the classroom. Through the practice of breath work and asana poses found in yoga, students will continue to develop their social-emotional learning skills through self-monitoring, self-awareness and social awareness. I want my students to find their own mind-body connections and to incorporate this into their dancing. I have experience teaching yoga in private studios and K-12 classrooms. I became RYT-200 hour certified in 2017 through Om Factory NYC under the direction of Taryn Vander Hoop and Blair Ritche.
